The My Little Buddy Tour

My Little Buddy is a Windows95, Windows98 and WindowsNT v4.0 utility to try and make PC life with the Palm Computing platform even easier. My Little Buddy collects all the 'normal' applications (Pilot Desktop, Hotsync and Install) together in one place and adds a lot of additional functionality:

Working from left to right the buttons are:

Load the Palm® Desktop. This button can also be configured to load whatever Personal Information Manager you wish to, from Microsoft™ Outlook® to Isbister's Time and Chaos.
Install applications to the Palm Computing Platform®. This button can also be configured to load the installer of your choice including the default install tool, and InstallBuddy from BackupBuddy Software.
User configurable PC applications menu. This button allows you to collate any additional applications that you use so thay can be launched from the My Little Buddy menus. This could include the Expense application, CoPilot or perhaps your development environment.
Your most frequently used Palm WWW sites can be collated here. My Little Buddy comes pre-configured with sites that I use regularly. My Little Buddy can also read in sites you already have set up in your favourites folder for most popular browsers.
Load and configure AddOns for My Little Buddy. These are external library files that allow you to read Palm Files for most of the popular Palm® formats. Further details can be found on the Downloads page.
Configure My Little Buddy. This allows virtually all aspects of My Little Buddy to be configured, or changed to suit you. The latest of these functions is the ability to apply virtually any look and feel to My Little Buddy that you want to. This is refered as skinning and examples can be seen here.
My Little Buddy comes with a full interactive, context sensitive help system that can be loaded from most screens by simply pressing F1. Alternatively you can launch it from this button

The My Little Buddy Installer

The My Little Buddy Installer offers several advantages to the one that comes with the Palm® Computing Platform as standard. Everything is on one screen, without having to shell out to a new window to select the files you want.

It allows you to group files together to form favourites, so if you always take certain files away when you go on business, or always have certain files on you system, then these can be grouped together so they can all be installed with one click.

You can assign your own notes against each application for your future reference. These notes could include serial numbers for registered versions.

Also it allows you to see what application a database you may have comes from, or works with. Just select the file and click the little button at the top of the installer up pops a window that shows you all the details about the file.

Configuring My Little Buddy

This screen allows total control of My Little Buddy's functions, from the installer or organiser you want to use, through location of key files. You can now also choose from 3 basic toolbar styles, one of which gives you complete flexibility as to how My Little Buddy looks.
